Last Blog
Time for the last blog of the semester, which is good because that means the semester is coming to an end. I cannot wait for finals to be over with! I know I seem to complain a lot about this semester, but it really has been tough and stressful and I really do need a break, even if it's only for a month. I'm also really looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts; my girlfriend and I always have to make about five different stops on each holiday between the both of our families, but the food is so good everywhere we go that we don't mind. I hope everyone does well on their finals and enjoys December break!

Thursday afternoon
I like the sun coming up earlier with the time change, because it's easier for me to wake up, but I don't like it getting dark outside so early. It makes it feel like it's later than it really is. October went by pretty fast, so I'm hoping November does too so it will be time for finals. This fall semester has been pretty hard and I'm ready for a break. I really enjoy Christmas time also, and am looking forward to that. I'm happy that the Saints are having such a great season, and I'm pulling for the Tigers on Saturday.

Slate URL
My Slate URL is called, "I Spend My Free Time With Dead People," by Adrian Chen. This article is about people, called gravers, who visit cemeteries to find graves of people they don't know and take pictures of their headstones to put on a website (Find a Grave). On the website, you can search for famous people's grave locations, and also search for specific locations and names. The website started small in 1991, only featuring celebrity graves, but is growing more and more everyday (they hope to one day have everyone who has died available for searching). There are many forums on the website, and people are really serious about being a true graver. Some gravers have taken thousands of pictures of graves and added them to the website. I think this sounds strange, but, to each his own!

Mid-semester
I had midterms last week and didn't do that great on one important one. I was going to drop the class and take a W but talked to my instructor and she convinced me to stick it out. Hopefully it will be worth it and I won't have to take the class again. It's almost time to register for the spring semester and I need to start thinking about what classes I want/need to take. Is it bad that I'm ready for Christmas break already?!
Tonight I grilled chicken breasts that had been marinated in a "Hawaiian glaze" I made earlier. It was pretty good and I'll save the glaze recipe. I enjoy cooking and trying different recipes.
I can't wait until Saturday night to watch the LSU game on TV. I hope they play well and win!

Fall Break
I went with my girlfriend today to see the Matt Damon movie, "The Informant." It was actually pretty funny and we enjoyed it. It was weird that there were only eight people in the movie theater at Tinseltown. I guess everyone is waiting for the new releases tomorrow. After we got home, I worked on my reading summaries that are due tomorrow. We're now about to grill some burgers and watch a movie after dinner. It's nice to stay in on a rainy night and relax some.
I'm relieved that the fall semester is about halfway over with. I'm burnt out from the combination of school and work still, and need a break that's longer than two days! I'm going to start dinner, and enjoy my short break!

A Rainy Weekend
It feels good outside, but the rain has turned my yard into a muddy mess. I wear rubber boots to go outside so my pants don't get dirty. At least it's not humid though. I'm up at work again on a Saturday morning, trying to get things done before the LSU game tonight. My girlfriend and I are having some people over and we're gonna grill some hamburgers probably. I'll end up making the burgers, and she'll end up baking the desserts...she's very good at baking. One of my friends coming over is a big FL fan, so hopefully doesn't act too obnoxious! I hope everyone has a good weekend and stays dry.

GEAUX TIGERS!
Game day! I love Saturdays because of college football. I had to go up to my work early this morning to get some stuff done so I could be finished in time to watch the game. I'm not too worried about this game, but next week will be a challenge!
I made steak ka-bobs last night for my girlfriend and her mom. I've never made ka-bobs before, but they actually turned out really good!
I've tried to start on my essay, but this one has been tougher for me than the last one yo write. I'll have to finish it after the game.
I hope everyone has a good weekend and I can't wait to relax tomorrow!
